Wm. David Cornwell, Sr. has over 15 years experience as a lawyer in the sports and entertainment industry.. In 1987 he commenced his career in sports as Assistant General Counsel for the National Football League.
Since 1987, he has provided legal and strategic business advice to the leaders in the sports and entertainment industry.

Cornwell has served as the primary counsel for Leigh Steinberg, Jeff Moorad, Eugene Parker, Dan Fegan and Michael Gillis - agents who represent players and coaches in the National Football League, Major League Baseball, the National Basketball Association and the National Hockey League.


Whether it is negotiating employment contracts for coaches, sponsorship agreements for companies, endorsement agreements to use the names, likenesses and other attributes of athletes and entertainers, providing strategic business advice in connection with sports and entertainment ventures, or providing legal advice regarding personal issues, Cornwell has developed a track record for winning that resulted in one of his adversaries conceding that he is the "best lawyer in the nation" on sports and entertainment issues.

Cornwell was the architect for Leigh Steinberg's recent victory against his former partner, David Dunn. Cornwell quarterbacked the trial team that obtained a $47 million judgment against Dunn and his company, Athletes First.
